How to Start Selling on Allegro.pl: A Beginner’s Guide
Launching a business on Poland’s largest marketplace, Allegro.pl, is a great move, but many newcomers find themselves facing the ‘zero-effect phenomenon’: their listings are set up, their products are added, but there are no visits (Wizyty), and sales remain at zero.
In this article, we will examine – based on real statistics – how the platform’s internal mechanisms work, why beginners struggle to make sales, and how automation via specialised platforms helps to overcome these barriers.
Part 1. Analysing the ideal metric: What should we be aiming for?
The file shows an example of a highly effective product card:
- Wizyty (Visits): 143
- Sprzedane sztuki (Items sold): 15
- Transakcje (Transactions): 14
- Konwersja (Conversion): 9,79%

What do these parameters depend on?
- Conversion rate (Konwersja = 9.79%): This is an excellent figure for a new product (the market average is 1–5%). It means that almost one in ten visitors to the product page makes a purchase. The conversion rate depends on the quality of the listing: a clear main image (thumbnail), a competitive price, a clear description and, most importantly, trust in the seller (the inclusion of Allegro Smart! and Top Oferta features).
- Visits (Wizyty = 143): This is traffic. It depends directly on the Trafność (Relevance) algorithm. The higher Allegro ranks your product for a search query, the more people click through to view it. The algorithm boosts a product’s ranking if it detects that its conversion rate and number of transactions are increasing.
- Transactions and Items Sold (14 / 15): These figures show that customers often buy several items of the same product in a single order. Sales trends over the last 30 days are the key factor in keeping a listing at the top of the search results. Allegro will not ‘push’ uninteresting, poorly presented products with descriptions generated by ChatGPT.
Часть 2. Why can’t a newcomer start selling on Allegro.pl? (The Allegro vicious circle)
The main problem for newcomers to Allegro is the ‘Vicious circle of the Trafność algorithm’:
To generate impressions and visits (Wizyty), a product must have a sales history and a good conversion rate (Konwersja). However, to generate its first sales and conversion, a product first needs impressions and visits.
The main causes of stalling at the start:
- Zero account rating (Sales Quality): A new account has no reviews (Comments) and no ‘Super Seller’ badges. The algorithm artificially lowers the ranking of such listings in search results, giving priority to experienced sellers. It is difficult to start selling on Allegro.pl in this situation.
- No Allegro Smart!: Polish shoppers are used to free delivery. Listings without the Smart! badge are filtered out in 80 per cent of search sessions. New sellers cannot activate Smart! until they have received their first five positive reviews and met a number of conditions.
- Errors when filling in parameters (Parametry): If you have not entered the EAN (GTIN) code, brand or specific product attributes, your listing will simply disappear from the search results as soon as a customer uses the filters in the sidebar.
- Individual product cards: Creating 5–10 cards manually does not provide enough data for testing. You need a range of products to get started, but manually entering hundreds of items takes weeks.

Part 3. How do integrators help you get started with trading?
To break the vicious circle and automate routine tasks, professional sellers use specialised automation and parsing platforms (such as automatic import tools, BaseLinker or niche automation services, often associated with purchasing and sales management).
What are the benefits of such automation tools:
- Instant import of thousands of products (Scale): Instead of manually transferring products from your online shop or from a wholesale supplier (Hurtownia), the service allows you to upload the entire catalogue (including photos, descriptions in Polish and specifications) in just a few clicks. More products mean a greater chance of attracting the first Wizyty.
- Automatic completion of required fields: Automation systems can match your warehouse categories with Allegro’s categories and automatically populate EAN codes, product codes and technical specifications. This ensures that your products do not get filtered out by buyers.
- Stock and price synchronisation (Rating protection): If you sell an item that is out of stock, your order will be cancelled. On Allegro, this instantly destroys the Jakość sprzedaży (Sales Quality) metric, and your account will be penalised. The automation checks stock levels every 10–15 minutes, eliminating this risk.
- Pricing management (Repricer): To secure your first transactions (such as the 14 transactions shown in the screenshot) on a new account, you often have to undercut the competition. Automation tools can monitor competitors’ prices on Allegro and automatically lower or raise your price within specified limits, keeping your product at the top of the list based on price.
A checklist for beginners: How to get your first 100 visits and 10 sales
- Link your listings to the Allegro catalogue (Produktyzacja): Make sure your product is linked to the marketplace’s global product.
- Launch Allegro Ads right from the start: As you have no organic sales history, invest a small amount in Oferty sponsorowane (sponsored products). This will artificially generate your first Wizyty.
- Use automation: Don’t waste time on manual data entry. Set up an automatic import or integration tool to list a wide range of products and ensure the accuracy of the details.
- Set your price temporarily below the market rate: Your aim in the first two weeks isn’t to make a million, but to secure your first Transakcje, build up reviews and activate Allegro Smart! as soon as possible.

As soon as the conversion rate moves off zero and stabilises at a consistent percentage (such as the benchmark 9.79% shown in the screenshot above), Allegro’s algorithm will automatically start promoting your product to the top for free.
Technically, Allegro offers an account type called Konto zwykłe (for private individuals). However, it is not possible to run a fully-fledged e-commerce business without registering a company.
Firstly, you will not be able to connect automation integrators or upload products in bulk.
Secondly, without a business account (Konto firma), it is impossible to obtain the Allegro Smart! badge and run Allegro Ads campaigns, which are crucial for promotion.
To start selling on Allegro.pl, beginners in Poland are best advised to set up a sole trader business (Jednoosobowa Działalność Gospodarcza — JDG) or use the services of a shell company (we can help with this).
Allegro often takes extra precautions with new accounts to protect buyers from fraud. Proceeds from initial sales may be frozen in your Allegro Finance (Przelewy24 / PayU) account for up to 14–30 days, or until the buyer has received the goods and the system has recorded the status as ‘Delivered’ based on the tracking number. New sellers need to have a financial buffer to purchase and dispatch new orders whilst their first payments are on hold.
Without the Smart! badge, conversion rates drop significantly. To quickly gather the first five essential positive reviews (Komentarze):
Include a small gift or a polite thank-you note in every parcel, asking customers to rate their purchase.
To begin with, sell a few units of a cheap but highly sought-after product (even at a small loss) to artificially boost transaction volumes and gather reviews.
Speed up dispatch as much as possible: orders dispatched on the same day are most likely to prompt Polish customers to give an excellent rating.

These are two fundamentally different instruments:
Featured (Highlight): You pay a fixed amount every 10 days, plus the platform charges an additional (higher) commission on every sale of that item. It simply moves the listing higher up in the general list. Newcomers should use this with caution: if you don’t have Smart! and have a poor rating, you’ll get clicks but no sales, and you’ll quickly end up in the red.
Allegro Ads: Operates on a PPC (pay-per-click) model. You only pay when a user views your listing (Wizyty). This is a more flexible and safer tool for beginners, as you can clearly control your daily budget and keywords. When starting out, it’s best to prioritise Allegro Ads.
Dispatch speed (Declared dispatch time) is one of the key factors in a seller’s rating (Sales Quality). If you have promised to dispatch an item within 24 hours but delay the dispatch, the algorithm will immediately deduct points from your account. If your rating drops to ‘Low’ (Niski), your listings will plummet in search results based on the Relevance system, and it will take a very long time to recover that traffic. This is precisely why synchronising stock levels through automation is critically important.
For your top 10 highest-margin products (your ‘sales drivers’), we strongly recommend commissioning a native speaker to proofread the texts by hand, to ensure they read naturally and do not contain any absurd machine-translation errors that could undermine customer trust. You won’t be able to launch sales on Allegro.pl with a poor-quality translation.
